Upholstery |
|
 |
The more you know about your upholstery fabrics and the recommended methods for cleaning them, the easier it will be to keep them looking their best.
General Care
- Vacuum or brush any loose dirt from upholstered furniture, paying special attention to cushions and crevices.
- All types of cushion cores require weekly fluffing. Fluff and turn cushions regularly for equal wear and to maintain their appearance.
- Pilling of some fabrics is not unusual and is easily removed with a sweater brush.
WHEN CLEANING IS NEEDED, WE RECOMMEND A PROFESSIONAL UPHOLSTERY CLEANING SERVICE. CALL OUR STORE FOR A RECOMMENDATION.
General Spot Cleaning
- The best time to remove a spot is while it's still a spill. Try plain cool water or club soda first. Hot water may set stains.
- Before using any cleaning solution, pre-test fabric on an inconspicuous area for color fastness and shrinkage.
- Blot fresh stains with an absorbent cloth. To keep liquids from soaking in, do not rub the stain.
- Remove dried stains with a dull-edges knife or spoon; vacuum or brush away loose particles.
- Use a minimum of cleaning agent, then remove with a damp cloth.
- Fast drying helps prevent rings. Use a fan of hair dryer on cool setting to hasten drying.

Woods |
|
 |
The beautiful surface finish given to a piece of wood furniture was made to retain its beauty. You can protect your wood surfaces by following a few easy steps.
- For routine dusting, wipe surface with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
- For cleaning, use a damp cloth. Wipe dry. DO NOT LEAVE WOOD DAMP.
- Polish your wood furniture with furniture oil, bees wax, or a cream-style polish. Apply sparingly and evenly. When dry, rub well until a luster appears.
- Light surface scratches can be filled in with matching colors of an eyebrow pencil or scratch cover.
- Avoid placing wood furniture directly next to heat source.
- Avoid water spillage from flowers and plants.
Note: These care instructions are provided to you as a general guideline. Proper application of any product is critical to achieve desired results. We cannot warranty these instructions.

Leathers |
|
 |
With the proper care, leather is an exceptional investment. Fine leather is luxurious as well as practical. Just like a fine wine, if properly cared for, leather gets better with age.
- Avoid using or placing sharp objects on leather furniture.
- Keep your furniture away from direct sunlight to avoid fading and at least two feet away from heat sources to avoid drying.
- Keep leather free from dust and debris by dusting with a clean cloth weekly.
- Blot up any spills immediately. Many common household cleaners may severely damage leather furniture. You may use a spray foam product specifically designed for leather goods. Avoid using saddle soap, mink oil, and other penetrating oil cleaners as these may affect the foam or batting within the seat cushions.
